Good News on Gene Therapy
On the 12 December 2011 an article has been published in the Giornale di Sicilia on Gene Therapy for Hemophilia B treatment. The research and human trials taken place in cooperation between Britain and the United States have given good results. The therapy consists in replacing the defective gene with a healthy one and if found 100% safe this therapy could replace the protein-based solution.

Laser For The Rehabilitation Of Haemophilia Patients

An agreement was signed between Baxter and the Italian Company El.En. for the marketing of high-intensity laser therapy for the treatment of patients with haemophilia.
Used for many years in the field of "pain management" the use of laser is also indicated for the rehabilitation of patients with haemophilia arthropathy.
In addition to having, in fact, an analgesic, anti-inflammatory and preparatory processes of repair and regeneration of tissues, the laser is very effective from the first session on painful symptoms and mobility.
The project will provide physical therapists Baxter HRA program of medical laser devices in order to fully exploit the potential of this therapy directly to patients in their homes.
The first part of the project will start next January and will involve some physical therapists from Italian haemophilia centres.
The pilot implementation phase will follow a nation-wide.
"We are happy to put our technology available to the haemophilia patient and improve his quality of life by preventing and treating the articular degeneration", says Giovanni Masotti, vice president of El.En. Group.

Here we are again to update you on the path Settlement informing you that the Federation, through the Justice Group, having had no response to the letter sent on March 9, proceeded to send another communication to various leaders, both government: President of the Chamber Gianfranco Fini, the Deputy Prime Minister Gianni Letta, who Ministerial: Minister of Labour, Health and Social Policy Prof. Maurizio Sacconi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Labour, Health and Welfare Hon Francesca Martini.
In this communication, as well as renew the request urgent meeting with the intent to request the amendment of some articles proposed the adoption of implementing decrees for the new transactions, we strongly emphasized such as the implementation of the changes we requested to be considered as indispensable.
In parallel continues the work of contacts and solicitations aimed at achieving the requested meeting with the Minister Sacconi (items not yet confirmed, said after Easter) in which there is given the opportunity to highlight the above.
